Lisa MacNamara Presents Unfamiliar Languages at Arts Warehouse
Lisa MacNamara is pleased to present Unfamiliar Languages, a new exhibition at Arts Warehouse in Delray Beach, Florida, opening May 21, 2026 and on view through June 27, 2026.
This immersive exhibition features large-scale, mixed-media abstract works and sculptural installations that explore the complexities of the human body, emotion, and memory.
About the Exhibition
n Unfamiliar Languages, MacNamara examines the intricacies of skin and the inner cellular layers of the physical self, capturing the imprints of energy, experience, and emotional history.
The work reflects a deep investigation into the mind–body connection, transforming layered materials—paper, fabric, thread, and found elements—into tactile, dimensional forms that echo the textures of scars, healing, and lived experience.
The exhibition creates a multisensory environment, incorporating sight, sound, touch, and visceral sensation.
Subtle audio elements evoke breath and transformation
Layered materials suggest fractured histories and repair
Interactive thread elements extend onto gallery walls, inviting physical engagement
Together, these elements transform the gallery into a living, responsive space, where viewers are not just observers—but participants in a dialogue about vulnerability, resilience, and the human condition.
