The juxtaposition between the resilience of metal and the fragility of paper is an ongoing exploration that reconnects me to the sculptural materials and processes I first engaged with during my undergraduate studies. Through interdisciplinary practice, I am drawn to combining diverse materials while maintaining the mind-body connection as the conceptual foundation of the work and strengthening my visual voice.
In the coming months, my practice will return to clay, concrete, and plaster, bridging the opacity and weight of these materials with translucent papers and fibers. The tension between strength and vulnerability, permanence and delicacy, enables the materials to communicate emotional and physical narratives through their interactions, structures, and forms.
